I joined Myrtle Beach Lightning in 2022, the summer after my freshman year. I'd played lacrosse recreationally since I was seven years old, but not on a competitive level. I've always loved the sport, but after an extended break due to COVID, I struggled to find my place and confidence on the field. Joining this team not only drastically improved my skills but also reignited my passion for all aspects of the game. Since joining, I have become a starter, stat leader, and all-region player for my high school. My lacrosse IQ has significantly increased, and I have found more confidence in my abilities on and off the field. Being a part of this team means more than just playing together on the field; it has given me lifelong friends and unforgettable memories. I cannot thank my coaches enough for being a great support system and my biggest cheerleaders. After each practice, I feel more and more prepared to play at the next level. I am forever grateful for everything this program has given me. If you're looking for a fun, effective, and competitive travel team, Myrtle Beach Lightning is the way to go!
    Thanks for everything Coach Brian!!!

I started playing lacrosse for my high school in 8th grade. I decided that I wanted to take the sport more seriously towards the end of my sophomore year, but needed help starting my recruitment process. At the time, there were not a lot of teams in the area that provided challenging practices to help me get to the next level for my age. When Myrtle Beach Lightning started to take kids my age on their team, I joined as soon as I could. This team has not only grown my love for the sport, but has also caused me to become more driven in my game. Towards the start of my first tournament with them, my game IQ increased greatly, along with my stick skills and teamwork. Playing on this team has allowed me to become very successful during both travel and school seasons. At school, I walked into my first varsity year as a starter, and have been awarded all region this past season. Being on Lightning has also encouraged me to enhance my game by attending other camps and prospect days for different colleges. If it weren’t for this team, I would not have committed to play D3 lacrosse at Pacific University in Oregon. The coaches on this team are not paid to coach us, so they are doing it on their own time, which immensely shows the amount of dedication to growing the sport and helping others become successful. The coaches also provide lots of resources for players who want to take their playing to the next level. Additionally, being on Lightning has helped me make lots of new friends, some of whom I consider my best friends. Even though we all play for different teams during school season, we work very efficiently towards our goals together. During school season it is always fun to play against each other and see each other again, which not only shows that we are a team, but also a family. I am so grateful for all this team has provided for me and hope that the sport continues to grow in our area.
