CLUB CODE OF CONDUCT

The purpose of a code of conduct for athletes is to establish a consistent expectation for athletes’ behavior. By joining the Club the player is expected and agrees to abide by the following statements:

1. I will respect and show courtesy to my teammates and coaches at all times. I will demonstrate good sportsmanship at all practices, games, and tournaments. 

2. I will set a good example of behavior and work ethic for my younger teammates. 

4. I will be respectful of my teammates’ feelings and personal space. Players who exhibit sexist, racist, homophobic, or otherwise inappropriate behavior will be faced with consequences. 

5. I will attend all team meetings and training sessions unless I am excused by my coach. I will show respect for all facilities and other property used during practices, competitions, and team activities. 

6. I will refrain from foul language, violence, behavior deemed dishonest, offensive, or illegal. 

7. If I disagree with an official’s call, I will talk with my coach and not approach the official directly. I will obey all of U.S. Lacrosse rules and codes of conduct.

8. I will wear all necessary safety equipment at all practice sessions, games, and/or tournaments including but not limited to googles and mouthguards.   

9. I will refrain from the use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and vaping products.

10. I will refrain from making derogatory comments about my teammates, coaches, the Club, opponents, and/or officials during and after games including but not limited to the use of social media platforms or text messaging apps.  

11. I will appropriately conduct myself at all times during practices and tournaments.

I understand that if I violate this code of conduct, I will be subject to disciplinary action determined by my coaches and Club Director, which may result in suspension and/or termination from the Club team indefinitely.
